Phenocopy is a concept that stems from biology, which describes the infinite variations that come about in a person, in terms of external shape, with no modifications of his genetic state.
These changes can appear influenced not only by environment, but also by particular human relations with this surrounding nature.This idea has been useful for me as starting point to reflect on the necessity that human being has to adapt himself to continuous external transformations of our environment, society, world or way of life.
And these adaptations involve psychological, emotional, intellectual and physical states.
But beyond these definitions, there is always the great richness of the plastic experience that offers us great quantity of possibilities.
I started to investigate about the ways that I could use to represent these transformations, varieties or adaptation.
And I also try to search the gear that rules these intangible questions that belongs to the ideas world.
Then suddenly, maybe because it was a sensory experience, I strongly needed to approach to poetry, and when I was working with Oliverio Girondo’s poems, I felt the intuition about the musical aspect of these drawings.
In this point, I decided to start an experimental musical work parallel to drawing: create a song for each painting that I was doing.
In this way, the ecstatic experience of Phenocopies, has mean for me as artist to face the comprehension of art not only as the development of an idea or concept using an specific technique , but also like a global life experience.
