
Marco Antonio Lopez Prado is essentially a painter and engraver. In recent years he has ventured into the realm of sculpture, ceramics and art object.
Born in Aguililla, Michoacan, in the Tierra Caliente, the artist has won several national and international awards, exhibiting his work both individually and collectively in many forums in the country and abroad. He was also director of the Casa de la Cultura de Morelia and director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Alfredo Zalce.
Studies
Between 1974 and 1977 studied drawing and ceramics at the School of Fine Arts People of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) in Morelia, Michoacan. Later studying for a degree in Visual Arts at the National Arts School (formerly Academy of San Carlos) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City.
